The Sound of Peace

Stanza #9

We’ve all read that Jesus came to bring peace on earth, He’s been given the title, “The Prince of Peace.” What exactly does He mean by that? The subject can take volumes of study within a wealth of principles and details. We are all busy, I’m going to say only a few words and let a couple of scriptures speak.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Luke 2:14

We Were Enemies

Since the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden, our minds have gone from being spiritually minded to carnally minded. There was no coming back from that, through human means.

For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Romans 5:10

Reconcilliation with God

Although we were enemies of God, Jesus made us at peace with God through His sacrifice. It’s the only thing that could do it. If there was any other way to get it done, He wouldn’t have had to come.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Colossians 1:19-20

Soul Settling Peace

Jesus gave us peace through His sacrifice settling our souls within the embrace of God. This gives our minds and hearts the power to have peace too.

…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

It Isn’t Flashy

God isn’t always flashy, most of the time, He speaks within the quietness of our souls. He demonstrated this through His birth. He wasn’t involved in the hustle, bustle, noise, and activity of the city. It was outside the chaos, within the stillness of the night, in a humble place. This is how we receive His peace. In our humble areas that emerge within the stillness of a sweet Holy sound. Let’s leave the crowd and come to our virtual stable, be still and embrace the Prince of Peace.

“Come to the stable now and leave the crowd.

Be still and you’ll hear the soft holy sound.

His voice says, “I’m not your enemy,

I’ve paid the price to bring you peace.'”
