Revival

Have you heard of the revival in Asbury? God is showing up on this campus, and kids and adults spontaneously worship Him in Spirit and truth. Some doubt this is of God, but for that, I find no basis yet. No one is getting rich, famous, or getting glory, and God is given the glory. I pray this movement continues. Revival fires have ignited randomly worldwide for thousands of years and have changed millions of lives. God has been behind the scenes creating and ordering the circumstances and waiting for people, individually and corporately, to humble themselves and seek Him. When those things happen, we see this beautiful movement happen. Does Wilmore, Kentucky, have the corner of the revival market, or can we experience it where we are?

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:11-13

The Price

It’s not a formula but a stance we take, and comes with a price. For years, the Christian prayer community has been praying 2 Chronicles 7:14. Jesus came to the earth as an ultimate act of humility, He being perfect being accused and punished not for His sins but for ours. We need to make the time to sit before Him and allow our souls to bend before Him and admit when we have been wrong, prideful, or sinful. It’s not about comparing our sins to those of others. The price is humility, a willingness to humble ourselves and pray, to bend to His will, allow conviction, and give Him glory. This makes us open and receptive to Him, and He doesn’t disappoint. When He shows up, forgiveness, love, power, redemption, and healing follow.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

Prayer

Lord, I admit that I have fallen short in many ways in my relationship with You and others. Forgive me, oh Lord, for my shortcomings, my sins. I release anger and unforgiveness toward others, even if they don’t deserve it, for You forgive me though I don’t deserve it either. I open myself to Your will, conviction, grace, and love. Thank You for forgiveness and permit You to change my life, fill my soul, and guide me with Your Holy Spirit. Let Your will be done in my life and our world. I receive Your unconditional love, power, and forgiveness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I will be found by you, declares the Lord,
