Welcome the Rain

We all have those times when it feels like the rain is falling. Sometimes a soaking rain changes our plans and causes us to pause. Sometimes, it’s the storms complete with hail, lightning, thunder, hail, and tornadoes. God speaks in parables, especially in the nature that surrounds us. Many of us stay entombed in our houses and don’t always see the ways that God speaks to us through nature. God always confirms His words to us through the Bible. Next time we take a walk, watch the birds. If the weather cancels our plans, let’s seek Him and ask if He can speak to us in a parable. I wrote this poem during a rainy season in my life and town. May it encourage you that God works all things together for the good.

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
